Haven't been online much recently.
We finally had the house computer fixed (and yeah, it's still a dinosaur)

So I now have to retrieve all my files of short stories from my dad's computer-- which is extremely difficult, by the way

My usb was destroyed by a virus and now my Dad's comp is infested with it too

There's only but one way of getting my word files back and that would be by re-typing EVERYTHING @_@
Been trying to work on it little by little by pulling several all-nighters

Sadly, there's just been so many distractions, plus some school works to be done T_T
Anyways,I've been thinking of making one of my short stories into an RPG . Err, no. Nothing as grand or as complicated as Ragnarok

--I'm not there yet

Just a a short and simple plot similar to shoujo manga's, so it will most likely turn out either an adventure quest or a dating sim for girls

I found a couple of free softwares that could help for easy creations of flash games and RPG's in "softonic" (a great search engine for free wares). Both programs seem rather complicated, particularly for first timers, although once you get the hang of it, particularly if creating flash games or if game programming is your thing then you're sure to make tons of your own original RPG's and flash games in no time.

Okay, so program assessment/ critiquing:

The
RPG toolkit is rather simple, although unfortunately, the program is still under development and is definitely NOT bug-free. Another downer would be that the graphics are limited to 2D so if you're looking forward to creating an RPG with awesome 3d visuals (a bit like GAIAonline or the like) then its time to actually spend on a better RPG software and forget about complaining (it's a free ware dude, whadd'ya expect?)

As for the
GameMaker, it could take a first timer a while before getting the hang of making their own flash game since the set up of the program may appear a bit complicated. Perhaps what contributes to its complication is that its HELP section isn't that reliable due to lack of information. Another downer too, is that a single glitch in the process could put all your hard work to waste (a bit like arithmetic, one has to watch out for errors or else the whole thing will go wrong) T_T On the positive side, the GameMaker has its own community online where its users could seek for help, play, and share their GamemMaker outputs to the world (although it is a requirement to download its own "Yoyo" plugin since the games uploaded will not be viewable even with the use of adobe flash or Java).
All in all, I think both programs are not really that bad for a free software

Anyway, I sure wish I could finally find the time to work on at least one presentable trial flash game

how are you ybuddy?
Oh, and yeah, I'm fine--- still the same old y addict
what about you, ybud, how's life?

Life...would be nice without hw and projects.
